10th World Green Economy Summit Set for October in Dubai
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer has announced the upcoming 10th World Green Economy Summit (WGES), scheduled for October 2-3, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Organized by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, DEWA, and WGEO, the summit will focus on the theme ‘Empowering Global Action: Unlocking Opportunities and Advancing Progress.’
Since its inception in 2014 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the summit has played a pivotal role in promoting a balanced approach between economic development and environmental sustainability. It serves as a global platform for experts, stakeholders, and decision-makers to collaborate on energy, climate change, green finance, and more.
Key thematic pillars of the summit include Decarbonization, Clean Energy Advancements (including Green Hydrogen & Energy Storage), Climate Finance, Circular Economy, Technology in Climate Change, and Youth in Climate Change, along with discussions on Food and Water sustainability.
The event underscores the UAE’s commitment to global climate action and Dubai’s leadership in sustainable development and transitioning to a green economy. The summit aims to enhance international cooperation and foster proactive solutions towards a sustainable future.
