Apple Expands Health Innovations with Sleep Apnea Detection and Hearing Aid Capabilities in AirPods Pro

Apple has introduced groundbreaking health features in its latest products, focusing on conditions like sleep apnea and hearing loss, which affect billions worldwide.

The new sleep apnea notifications are coming to Apple Watch, using an innovative Breathing Disturbances metric to detect abnormal respiratory patterns during sleep. These notifications will alert users if there are signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea, allowing them to seek medical advice. This feature is expected to be available in over 150 countries, including the U.S. and Japan, after regulatory approvals.

On the hearing front, AirPods Pro 2 will provide the world’s first all-in-one hearing health solution. New features include Loud Sound Reduction, a clinical-grade Hearing Test, and an over-the-counter Hearing Aid feature. These capabilities will enable users to test their hearing, receive real-time assistance, and benefit from personalized hearing profiles. Available in more than 100 countries by fall 2024, this suite of tools aims to make hearing assistance more accessible and affordable.

Apple’s commitment to privacy ensures all health data is encrypted and protected.

These health features continue to build on Apple’s mission to empower users with actionable health insights while safeguarding their privacy.
