Awqaf Dubai supports low-income families with 3000 Sand Cards

Endowments and Minors' Trust Foundation (Awqaf Dubai), in collaboration with Emirates Islamic has introduced the preloaded Sand banking card.

The initiative aims to empower deserving segments of society to carry out purchasing transactions at various retail centers using the card.

The Foundation distributed 3,000 Sand cards worth AED 3 million to beneficiaries including orphans, widows, senior citizens, people of determination and those with limited income. The card includes a preloaded amount of AED 1,000, deposited by the Foundation into a dedicated account at Emirates Islamic. Additionally, the card offers discounts at Carrefour stores and Union Coop. Cardholders also can make retail purchases at various point-of-sale locations.

His Excellency Ali Mohammed Al-Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai,
emphasized that providing social support to deserving segments is a top priority for the Foundation. He highlighted that the issuance of the Sand card contributes to empowering orphans, widows, and people of determination, and ensuring necessary support for a dignified life for senior citizens and individuals with limited income. This initiative aims to enhance living standards and improve the quality of life for these vulnerable groups.

“Awqaf Dubai strives to build partnerships with various private and governmental entities to grant select social groups access to a range of benefits and services that enhance their quality of life”,

said H.E. Al-Mutawa.

His Excellency also highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to communication and coordination with relevant stakeholders to reach eligible social segments and ensure they receive the institution’s services, which ultimately contribute to sustainable social welfare and the betterment of the community.
