Community members urged to avail e-registration system for birth and death: MoHAP
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has urged community members to take advantage of its numerous electronic services, including the issuance of birth and death certificates or certified true copies of these documents.
This comes as the ministry seeks to establish a national registry for births and deaths in the UAE.
In addition, MoHAP provides the "Mabrouk Ma Yak" package for newborn Emiratis, which aims to issue all documents for newborns in just one visit rather than the previous seven. A newborn birth certificate, an Emirates Identity card, and a passport are all included with the bundle. The names of these newborns will also be registered in the family book and population register.
Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for MoHAP said,
"Providing electronic services to register births and deaths works in tandem with the ministry's plans for an electronic and smart transformation, as well as the activation of linkages with the competent authorities. Such electronic systems offer the statistical reports required for decision-makers to follow up and monitor data on births and deaths, on which future plans and indicators for the development of the healthcare sector are based, in addition to providing precise statistics on the causes of deaths, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) Standards."
Talking about the particulars of the ministry’s online facility, Dr. Nada H. A. Obaid Al Marzooqi, Director of the Public Health and Prevention Department, MoHAP, said,
"The service includes providing electronic reports for births and deaths in government and private hospitals, submitting requests for issue, reissue, and replacement of lost birth and death certificates by individuals. It also features the issuance of an electronic copy of the birth or death certificate."
She further maintained that the system provides electronic connectivity with the Emirates Identity Authority to update the population register data for birth and death cases, with the possibility of the electronic payment of fees.
