DEWA adds ‘Away Mode’ feature for customers to monitor their consumption even when they are away from home
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has added the ‘Away Mode’ feature to its ‘Smart Living’ initiative. The new innovative service enables residential customers to monitor their electricity and water use when they are not at home. Customers with smart electricity and water meters can activate this service through their accounts on DEWA’s website and smart app. They can also select the activation period to receive daily or weekly data by email.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA said:
“As part of its vision to become a globally leading sustainable innovative corporation, DEWA harnesses the latest smart technologies supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data to enable customers. This helps customers benefit from the accurate information provided instantly by DEWA on its website or smart app to analyze and self-diagnose any problems causing waste or increased consumption.
We are committed to raising awareness on sustainability among customers, reducing cost, environmental impact and carbon footprint. We also encourage them to conserve resources as a daily and cultural practice. This supports the Demand Side Management Strategy to reduce electricity and water consumption by 30% by 2030.”
The ‘Smart Living initiative’ has several features for customers to monitor their consumption and make smart decisions proactively without contacting DEWA. To benefit from these services, customers can log onto their DEWA account on the website or smart app and update their Consumption Pattern file to get customized conservation tips and track their consumption data.
Customers can also benefit from the exclusive discounts and offers on DEWA Store for smart home systems, as well as energy and water-saving devices to transform their homes into smart ones.
