DEWA Showcases Sustainability and Innovation Projects at World Future Energy Summit 2025
At the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2025 in Abu Dhabi, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will spotlight its cutting-edge sustainability and renewable energy projects. DEWA’s exhibit, in Hall 5 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 14-16 January 2025, underscores its commitment to clean energy, innovation, and a greener future.
Key highlights include:
- Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park: The largest single-site solar park globally, with a current production capacity of 2,860MW and an additional 1,800MW under construction, contributing to Dubai’s goal of 27% clean energy by 2030.
- Sustainability and Innovation Centre: Located at the solar park, this facility uses metaverse technology to offer immersive virtual tours showcasing the latest clean energy advancements.
- R&D Centre: Focused on solar power and smart grid research, the centre has published 263 scientific papers, filed 42 patents, and positioned Dubai as a hub for renewable energy innovation.
- Space-D Programme: DEWA’s space initiative has launched two nanosatellites to optimize energy and water network efficiency, making it the first utility globally to leverage nanosatellites for operational enhancements.
- EV Green Charger Initiative: Promoting green mobility since 2014, Dubai now hosts over 400 green charging stations with 740 charging points.
- Smart Grid: DEWA’s award-winning smart grid enhances energy efficiency and reliability, supporting Dubai’s vision of sustainable urban development.
