DEWA's Warsan Accommodation Complex Achieves LEED Platinum Rating

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has marked another milestone in sustainability with its Accommodation Complex in Warsan receiving the prestigious LEED Platinum Rating from the US Green Building Council.

This accolade positions the complex as the first multifamily project worldwide to achieve such recognition under LEED Homes v4.1, scoring 80 points.

The complex, comprising residences for families and bachelors, showcases impressive environmental credentials, including 61% water savings and 28% energy savings. Notably, it generates 10% of its energy needs from renewable sources and utilizes furniture certified by the Forest Stewardship Council for low volatile organic compounds (VOC).

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, emphasized the significance of this achievement in aligning with Dubai's sustainability goals and enhancing quality of life. He underscored DEWA's commitment to green building practices and its role in advancing Dubai's position as a global leader in sustainability.

With this latest accolade, DEWA now boasts ten LEED-certified buildings, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship in Dubai.
