DHA's NABIDH Initiative Transforms Healthcare in Dubai
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has announced a significant milestone in its NABIDH initiative, successfully unifying over 9.47 million patient records and connecting more than 1,300 healthcare facilities across the Emirate.
With 81% of Dubai's healthcare professionals engaged in the system, NABIDH is revolutionizing patient data management and enhancing healthcare delivery.
In collaboration with Kyndryl, the DHA recently co-hosted a workshop aimed at encouraging private sector adoption of this pioneering technology. Attended by His Excellency Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director-General of DHA, and senior health officials, the workshop focused on improving patient outcomes through modern technology, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and the importance of maintaining a unified digital medical record for every patient.
NABIDH, which stands for Network & Analysis Backbone for Integrated Dubai Health, is central to DHA’s strategy to digitize healthcare services, ensuring that each patient possesses a comprehensive electronic medical file accessible across all providers. Al Ketbi emphasized that the initiative aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position Dubai as the world’s smartest city.
Mona Bajman, CEO of Shared Support Services at DHA, affirmed the authority's commitment to utilizing cutting-edge global smart solutions to enhance Dubai’s healthcare sector. Dr. Mohammad Al Redha, Director of DHA’s Health Informatics and Smart Health Department, highlighted the initiative's integration with the UAE's Riayati initiative, which aims to provide a single medical file for every individual in the country.
Pieter Bil, Senior Vice President at Kyndryl, expressed pride in supporting the NABIDH initiative, underlining the collaborative effort to create a more connected healthcare ecosystem. The DHA's innovative approach aims to foster improved communication among healthcare facilities and elevate the standards of patient care throughout Dubai.
