DP World Foundation Concludes Inaugural 'Back to School' Initiative in Egypt

DP World Foundation, the charitable arm of DP World, has successfully completed its first philanthropic project in Egypt. The "Back to School" initiative provided 5,000 school supplies to underprivileged students across the Luxor and Aswan governorates.

In partnership with the National Alliance for Civil Development Action in Aswan, the foundation distributed stationery sets, school bags, and other essential tools to students from Esna, Edfu, and Kom Ombo.

The project concluded with a ceremony featuring a Nubian cultural performance, attended by key dignitaries including Omar Sharif Al Marzooqi, Latifa Al Qemzi, and Aswan’s Deputy Governor Dr. Amr Lashin. Students and families celebrated as volunteers, in collaboration with local foundations, distributed school supplies, ensuring that disadvantaged students had the resources needed for the academic year.

HE Nasser Abdulla, Vice Chairman of DP World Foundation, highlighted the importance of education in societal development and reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to empowering students from underprivileged communities.

Latifa Al Qemzi, Director General, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the foundation’s dedication to making a positive impact on the most vulnerable.

This initiative marks DP World Foundation’s first major project outside the UAE and sets the stage for future charitable efforts across key sectors, including education and healthcare.
