Dubai Chambers Hosts Legal Workshops to Empower Businesses with Compliance Expertise
Dubai Chambers recently concluded a series of six legal workshops designed to bolster companies' compliance with key laws and regulations across various business sectors in the emirate.
The workshops, held both in-person and online, attracted over 283 participants from the private sector.
The sessions covered a diverse range of topics, including legal requirements for cybersecurity, licensing and regulation of virtual assets, UAE Labour Law, intellectual property (IP) and artificial intelligence (AI), updates to Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) regulations, and corporate governance.
The first workshop, in collaboration with United Trademark and Patent Services, delved into the intersection of artificial intelligence and intellectual property, focusing on the ownership and protection of AI-generated creations. The second webinar, organized with KPMG Lower Gulf, addressed the latest SCA regulations on internal controls, corporate governance, and risk management for public joint-stock companies in the UAE.
The third session, hosted with Kreston ME Consulting and Galadari Advocates & Legal Consultants, highlighted regulatory cybersecurity requirements and strategies to align with Dubai's Cybersecurity Strategy. Meanwhile, the fourth workshop, held in partnership with Governance Dynamics and Watson Farley & Williams (Middle East), emphasized corporate governance, risk, and compliance to enhance business resilience.
Fragomen UAE and Gateley UK (DMCC Branch) conducted the fifth workshop on UAE employment law, covering visa requirements, recruitment, and essential employment aspects. The final session, hosted with Afridi & Angell, explored the licensing and regulation of virtual asset businesses, focusing on compliance with the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority.
