Dubai Business Events Showcases City's Premier Status at IMEX Frankfurt 2024
Dubai Business Events (DBE), the city’s official convention bureau and a part of the Department of Economy and Tourism, is participating with its delegation in IMEX Frankfurt 2024.
The Dubai delegation at IMEX comprises over 35 stakeholders from partner organizations, collectively reinforcing Dubai's status as a premier destination for international business events. Exhibitors include DMCs, hotels, venues, and airlines such as Emirates, Expo City Dubai, Dubai World Trade Centre, Emaar Hospitality Group, Hyatt Hotels, and Atlantis the Palm Hotels & Resort.
Dubai's participation aligns with IMEX's theme of "Impact," emphasizing the industry's role in making positive impacts through events, partnerships, and actions. Dubai's strategy focuses on attracting business events that contribute to visitation growth and economic impact, aligning with Dubai Economic Agenda goals. Recently, Dubai was recognized by ICCA and Cvent as the top city in the Middle East for association meetings hosted in 2023 and the leading meeting destination in the Middle East and Africa, respectively, underscoring its global appeal for impactful meetings.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), said,
“The theme of IMEX this year, Impact, mirrors our ambitions for growth in the business events sector in Dubai. Driven by the D33 vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, we are focused on attracting events that make a positive impact on our knowledge economy and strengthen overall economic growth. To achieve this, we proactively work with our partners and stakeholders, showcasing the best Dubai has to offer the world, and, in doing so, seek to make a notable impact on our ambitious economic strategy. We are confident our collaborative effort at IMEX will help build on the growth momentum of recent bid wins and secure even more major international conferences, congresses, meetings and incentives for the coming years.”
IMEX plays a crucial role in Dubai Business Events' ongoing efforts to promote the city as a top business events destination, aligning with Dubai's economic objectives. The event highlights Dubai's global prominence as a hub for business events and knowledge exchange. It serves as a platform for DBE to strengthen partnerships with key industry players like ICCA, IAPCO, Best Cities Global Alliance, and Global Association Hubs Partnerships. Dubai's tourism continues to thrive, with 5.18 million overnight visitors in Q1 2024, marking an 11% increase from the same period in 2023. This growth trend follows a remarkable performance in 2023, where the city welcomed 17.15 million international overnight visitors, reflecting a 19.4% year-on-year increase compared to 2022.
