Dubai Customs Launches Specialised Vocational Programme for Logistics Sector

The Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation has unveiled a new specialised vocational programme aimed at bolstering the logistics sector by empowering young Emiratis.

This initiative is designed to equip the youth with the necessary skills to explore job opportunities in one of Dubai's most promising economic sectors.

Aligned with Dubai Customs' continuous efforts to invest in Emirati talent, the programme focuses on providing professional training and field experience to better integrate them into the labour market. It supports the broader goals of sustainable development by nurturing a skilled workforce capable of contributing to Dubai’s economic growth.

Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, emphasised the programme's alignment with the 'Dubai Economic Agenda D33' and 'Dubai Social Agenda 33,' which seek to increase Emirati employment in the private sector. The initiative will play a vital role in fulfilling these agendas by raising national productivity and fostering financial independence.

Dr. Abdullah Busnad, Director-General of Dubai Customs, highlighted that the programme adopts global best practices in logistics training and aims to mould young leaders capable of navigating a rapidly changing world. Participants will receive academic and hands-on training across various customs facilities, ensuring they are well-prepared to excel in the workforce.

The programme, developed in collaboration with private sector partners, aims to create a robust talent pipeline, enriching the logistics sector while supporting the long-term vision of Dubai's leadership for economic and social development.
