Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism Partners with Amazon UAE to Launch SME Accelerator Program

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has announced a strategic collaboration with Amazon UAE to launch the ‘DET x Amazon Accelerator,’ a new initiative aimed at boosting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Dubai.

This program is designed to accelerate SMEs' digital transformation, equipping them with tools, resources, and mentorship to enhance their global competitiveness.

The accelerator is part of the broader Dubai Traders initiative under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This initiative is focused on positioning Dubai as a global hub for entrepreneurship by providing SMEs access to strategic partnerships and advanced digital solutions, enabling them to grow internationally.

The partnership, signed by Hadi Badri, CEO of Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC), and Jasmin Frick, Director of Seller Success at Amazon MENA, will leverage Amazon’s 25 years of global expertise. The program will focus on key areas such as global reach, digital upskilling, marketing support, and tailored expertise to help SMEs succeed online.

Hadi Badri emphasized that this collaboration aligns with the D33 agenda's goal of empowering Dubai-based businesses to thrive in the digital economy. Ronaldo Mouchawar, Vice President of Amazon MENA, expressed that the program reflects Amazon's commitment to supporting local businesses, aiming to host products from 100,000 SMEs on Amazon.ae by 2026.

The ‘DET x Amazon Accelerator’ will give SMEs an opportunity to expand their digital presence and reach international markets, further solidifying Dubai’s position as a leading business hub.
