Dubai Design Week Celebrates 10th Edition with Global Talent and Innovations
Dubai Design Week, the region's premier design festival, is set to mark its 10th anniversary from November 5th to 10th, 2024, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture.
The festival will showcase a dynamic array of new commissions, exhibitions, and events.
In partnership with Dubai Design District (d3) and supported by Dubai Culture, this year's festival will highlight a decade of design impact on the UAE and GCC's burgeoning interior design and furniture markets, collectively valued at approximately US$26 billion. The event will celebrate Dubai’s evolution into a global design hub, reflecting on its growth and influence over the past decade.
The festival will feature over 500 designers and brands from more than 40 countries, presenting innovative design ideas through installations, exhibitions, and interactive displays.
Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of d3, emphasized the importance of creative industries in shaping identity and culture, noting that Dubai Design Week has been pivotal in promoting both local and international talent. This year’s programme will also introduce 'Editions,' a new initiative in collaboration with d3, aimed at advancing Dubai’s creative economy.
Natasha Carella, Director of Dubai Design Week, expressed enthusiasm for the event's focus on sustainable practices and vernacular architecture. She highlighted the festival's role in addressing contemporary challenges through creativity and collaboration.
Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, CEO of the Arts and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, reaffirmed Dubai's commitment to innovation and creativity. As a UNESCO City of Design, Dubai's support for the festival underscores its dedication to fostering a vibrant cultural and creative landscape.
