Dubai Fitness Challenge 2024 Breaks Records with Over 2.7 Million Participants

The eighth edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) concluded in record-breaking fashion, with a remarkable 2,735,158 participants, a 14% increase from the previous year.

Held from 26th October to 24th November, this city-wide initiative, spearheaded by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, invited residents to commit to 30 minutes of daily exercise for 30 days.

DFC 2024 featured a packed calendar with 30 x 30 fitness villages, community hubs, and events across the city, catering to all ages and fitness levels. The event’s inclusivity fostered a sense of camaraderie, with participants achieving their fitness goals together. Notable venues included three 30 x 30 Fitness Villages at Kite Beach, Zabeel Park, and Al Warqa’a Park, drawing over 467,000 visitors.

Flagship events such as the Dubai Stand-Up Paddle, Dubai Ride, and Dubai Run attracted record-breaking crowds. Dubai Ride welcomed 37,130 cyclists, while Dubai Run saw an astonishing 278,000 participants, making it one of the largest community runs globally. The event also featured an unforgettable spectacle with performances by international artists and breathtaking aerial displays.

Saeed Hareb, Secretary-General of Dubai Sports Council, celebrated the success of DFC, highlighting its role in promoting an active lifestyle and its positive impact on residents’ health. With over 13 million participants since its inception in 2017, DFC has become a vital part of Dubai’s vision to be one of the world’s most active cities.

DFC’s success was powered by numerous partners, including DP World, Dubai Municipality, and Mai Dubai, and will return in November 2025 to continue its mission of fostering a healthier Dubai.
