Dubai Hosts 12th Islamic Institutions Quran Competition

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has launched the 12th Islamic Institutions Quran Competition, dedicated to promoting Quran memorisation and recitation across diverse age groups.

This year’s event sees participation from 118 male and female contestants from licensed Quran memorisation centres in Dubai, held at the Maktoum Quranic Center and Sciences in Al-Warqa'a 1.

Dr. Omar Mohammed Al-Khatib, Executive Director of the Islamic Affairs Sector at IACAD, highlighted the competition's significance as more than just a competitive platform.

"This competition is an educational message aimed at underscoring the Quran’s role as a foundational pillar in preparing generations to face modern challenges with faith and knowledge,"

Dr. Al-Khatib said. He commended the organisers for fostering a conscious, Quran-aware generation through this initiative.

The event features multiple categories tailored to participants’ varying levels of Quran memorisation and recitation skills. Judged by a panel of renowned scholars and Quran experts, the competition upholds rigorous standards of accuracy and fairness, enhancing the credibility and value of the competition.

Aligned with IACAD’s mission to promote Islamic values and enhance Dubai’s leadership in Quranic education, this competition is a step forward in raising awareness and inspiring the younger generation to embrace Quranic knowledge and values.
