Dubai Industrial City to Highlight Food Security at SIAL Paris 2024

Dubai Industrial City (DIC), a key player in the UAE's industrial sector, will attend SIAL Paris 2024 as part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) delegation.

The event, scheduled from 19th-23rd October at Paris Nord Villepinte, France, will see DIC showcase its role in advancing global food security through innovative manufacturing infrastructure.

As a part of TECOM Group PJSC, DIC plays a crucial role in supporting the food and beverage (F&B) manufacturing sector. Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group, emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving food security.

"A cohesive manufacturing ecosystem will underpin this journey,"

he said, highlighting DIC’s commitment to the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), Operation 300bn, and the National Food Security Strategy 2051.

DIC’s strategic location near key logistics hubs, including Al Maktoum International Airport, Jebel Ali Port, and Etihad Rail, supports seamless F&B trade and ensures the freshness and security of transported goods. The district serves as a gateway to consumers across the MENASA region, strengthening regional food supply chains.

Since its establishment in 2004, DIC has become home to over 1,000 businesses, including industry giants like A.P. Moeller-Maersk, Patchi, and Al Barakah Dates. Its participation in SIAL Paris reinforces its role in defining the regional F&B manufacturing landscape and promoting resilience in homegrown supply chains, contributing to Dubai's position as a global leader in industrial excellence.
