Dubai International Library Conference 2024: Registration Now Open for Landmark Event

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library has announced that registration is now open for the first-ever Dubai International Library Conference (DILC) 2024, set to take place from November 15 to 17.

Under the theme "Our Libraries: Past, Present, and Future," this significant event will feature over 60 speakers from more than 25 countries, bringing together leading experts and professionals from the library and information sector.

Prominent figures attending the conference include HE Dr. Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President; Dr. Saeed Mubarak Kharbash, CEO of the Arts & Literature sector at Dubai Culture & Arts Authority; and Fahad Al Maamari, Chairman of the Emirates Library and Information Association. International representation includes Sharon Memis, President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), and Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The conference will kick off with key sessions focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence in library services, including "Embracing the Age of AI" and "AI and the Library: A New Chapter." Subsequent days will explore the vital roles of library associations, the future of academic libraries, and the impact of digital transformation.

In a move to consolidate Dubai’s status as a cultural hub, the conference also aims to celebrate libraries as essential cultural and architectural landmarks while addressing their diverse roles in knowledge preservation and exchange. Additionally, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library will host the 2024 Conference of Directors of National Libraries in Asia and Oceania, in collaboration with the National Library and Archives of the UAE.
