Dubai Launches AED2 Billion Strategic Police Projects to Enhance Security and Innovation
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, recently unveiled a series of strategic projects for Dubai Police, with a budget of AED2 billion.
These projects focus on enhancing security, advancing specialised training, and improving police personnel's wellbeing through housing and family support initiatives.
The announcement was made during His Highness's visit to the Dubai Police Officers Club in Al Jaddaf, where he was joined by members of the Dubai ruling family and high-ranking officials. Sheikh Mohammed praised Dubai Police’s commitment to maintaining one of the world’s safest cities, underscoring Dubai's leading role in innovative security solutions.
Among the major initiatives is a new Dubai Police Academy in Al Ruwayyah, set across 155 hectares and featuring residential zones, classrooms, sports facilities, and a main training field for 2,500 cadets, with completion expected by 2027. Another highlight is a new training centre in Hatta, aimed at accommodating 180 students, with facilities scheduled to open next year.
Additional projects include “Area 56,” a centre for advanced crime prevention and data analysis leveraging AI, and a new police housing development in Umm Al Daman, comprising residential apartments, green spaces, and commercial amenities, set for completion in 2026.
Other advancements include a Smart Police Station expansion in Bur Dubai, a cutting-edge Forensic Medicine Building, and the world’s first Floating Smart Police Station at The World Islands, providing 24/7 offshore services.
These projects demonstrate Dubai’s commitment to integrating technology and innovation in security, ensuring a safe environment for its residents, and setting a global benchmark for urban safety and resilience.
