Dubai Launches First Intellectual Property Hub to Empower Innovators and Creatives
Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) and the UAE Ministry of Economy have launched the Dubai Intellectual Property Hub (DIPH), the UAE’s first centralized platform for managing intellectual property (IP) and intangible assets (IA).
This initiative aims to support innovators, entrepreneurs, artists, researchers, and startups across various sectors, including sustainability, creative design, health, education, and law.
The announcement was made during the “IP2024: Glimpse on the Future of IP” event held at the Museum of the Future, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Economy and DFF. Key officials, including H.E. Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, and H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of DFF, attended the signing.
Under the MoU, the Ministry’s intangible asset registration system will be integrated into DIPH, providing a seamless digital interface that centralizes tools, resources, and guidelines for IP protection and commercialization.
H.E. Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri emphasized the UAE’s commitment to fostering innovation through robust legal frameworks, supporting the “We the UAE 2031” vision to position the country as a global leader in creativity and the new economy. Khalfan Belhoul echoed this, stating that the platform offers essential resources for businesses to expand globally while advancing the UAE’s creative economy.
DIPH aims to simplify the IP registration process and provide reliable guidance for entrepreneurs, further strengthening Dubai’s position as a hub for innovation.
