Dubai Media Council Advances Efforts to Nurture Media Talent and Foster Industry Growth

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), has reiterated the Council’s commitment to advancing sustainable development and nurturing media talent.

This vision aligns with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who emphasised the importance of investing in human capital to foster innovation and excellence.

During a recent Dubai Media Council meeting, Sheikh Ahmed highlighted the Council’s dedication to developing a new generation of media leaders. The Council, he noted, seeks to collaborate with partners to identify and nurture emerging talent capable of shaping the future of the media industry. He expressed optimism that media institutions would play a key role in inspiring young talent to contribute to the sector’s growth.

The meeting reviewed the Council's progress in implementing initiatives related to talent development and leadership programmes. It also explored strategies for strengthening partnerships with media institutions and academic bodies to ensure future media professionals are well-prepared for industry challenges.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Sheikh Ahmed met with recipients of the ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Media Students,’ encouraging them to continue excelling and contribute to Dubai’s media landscape.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the Council, stressed that the Council’s focus on empowering youth aligns with Dubai’s vision of becoming a leading global media hub.

The Dubai Media Council is expanding its scholarship programme, aiming to provide greater opportunities for Emirati students through collaborations with leading universities and media organisations.
