Dubai Municipality Completes AED 245 Million Beautification Projects Along Key Roads

In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Municipality has successfully completed seven new beautification projects aimed at enhancing key intersections and roadsides on Sheikh Zayed and Al Khail Roads. These projects, valued at AED 245 million, cover over 1.4 million square meters.

The initiative, part of the ongoing “Green Dubai Project,” seeks to increase green spaces across the emirate and improve Dubai's visual identity by combining urban development with expansive greenery. The projects introduced 2.5 million flowers and ornamental plants, alongside 6,500 trees, complemented by advanced, water-efficient irrigation systems.

H.E. Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, emphasized that these efforts align with the city’s goal of enhancing its green coverage and ensuring sustainable urban development. He highlighted the importance of merging environmental sustainability with modern infrastructure to create a visually appealing and healthy environment for both residents and visitors.

The projects span major intersections on Sheikh Zayed Road, covering 843,000 square meters and involving the planting of 1.5 million seedlings and 3,500 trees. Additionally, Al Khail Road saw beautification efforts across 625,000 square meters, with the introduction of 1 million plant seedlings and 3,000 trees.

Dubai Municipality’s commitment to sustainable development is evident, with over 185,000 trees planted in 2023 alone, contributing to a significant expansion of green spaces across the city. The municipality continues to implement innovative practices that foster Dubai’s reputation as a global leader in sustainability.
