Dubai Municipality Launches Fourth Season of Summer Camp at Children’s City

Dubai Municipality has officially inaugurated the fourth season of its summer camp at Children’s City, running from July 8 to August 2, 2024.

This year’s camp, themed ‘Sustainable Summer of Dubai: Education, Inspiration, and Implementation,’ welcomes around 90 children aged 7 to 12. The camp aims to provide a mix of educational and recreational activities, enhancing children's talents, knowledge, and creativity.

Aligned with Dubai Municipality’s mission to develop sustainable and recreational spaces, the summer camp supports the Dubai Social Agenda by fostering a proactive educational and social environment. The initiative emphasizes the importance of blending education with recreation to boost children's intellectual and creative capacities.

Diverse Activities

The camp offers a variety of activities across education, sports, and environmental sustainability. Highlights include:

  • Educational Workshops: Programs such as the ‘Health and Safety Ambassador’ raise awareness about food safety and nutrition, while workshops like ‘The Young Farmer’ promote agricultural education.
  • Creative Sessions: Activities include ‘Chess Challenge,’ ‘The Art of Photography,’ ‘The Robot and the Young Engineer,’ and ‘The Sign Language,’ among others.
  • Environmental Awareness: Sessions like the Dubai Reserve Virtual Reality Workshop and fungal life information aim to increase environmental sustainability awareness.
  • Health and Safety: Workshops focus on disease prevention, public health, and safety procedures at home.

Recreational and Artistic Activities

Children can engage in handicrafts, pottery, flower arrangements, gypsum and wood carving, shirt printing, cooking, and comic art. The camp also includes sports programs such as ‘Sports for Our Health’ and Open Sports Day, along with field trips to venues like Atlantis Aquaventure, Dubai Dolphinarium, and Dubai Frame.

Participants will be divided into two groups: the first from July 8-19 and the second from July 22-August 2.
