Dubai Set to Honour Winners of 8th Arab Reading Challenge

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the 8th edition of the Arab Reading Challenge is set to culminate on 23rd October at Dubai Opera.

The prestigious event will celebrate the achievements of students from across the Arab world, showcasing their dedication to reading and knowledge.

Sheikh Mohammed reflected on the transformative impact of the Challenge, stating,

"Our new generations have proven themselves ready to carry the torch of Arab civilisation and its timeless language."

Now in its eighth year, the initiative has engaged 28.2 million students from 229,620 schools in 50 countries, further demonstrating its significant influence.

The ceremony will highlight top achievers across several categories, including the ‘Arab Reading Champion 2024’, People of Determination Champion, Best School, and Outstanding Supervisor. Winners will receive monetary awards, with the Arab Reading Champion earning AED500,000.

Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), credited the continued success of the Challenge to Sheikh Mohammed's vision of empowering youth through knowledge and reading. He emphasized the initiative's role in strengthening the connection between young Arabs and their cultural identity.

Launched in 2015, the Arab Reading Challenge has seen over 131 million students participate across eight editions, establishing itself as a leading knowledge competition and a beacon for promoting cultural exchange.
