Dubai Set to Host Inaugural Premier Padel P1 Tournament
Dubai is gearing up to host its first-ever Premier Padel P1 tournament from November 3 to 10 at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.
This highly anticipated event will showcase world-class padel as the best male and female players compete for a substantial prize pool of AED 1.8 million.
The tournament will feature 256 top athletes from around the globe, including international stars such as Arturo Coello, Ariana Sanchez Fallada, and Juan Lebron. Matches will take place across six purpose-built courts, ensuring an exciting atmosphere for fans and players alike.
One of the highlights of the event will be the farewell appearance of Fernando Belasteguin, known as ‘Bela.’ Widely regarded as the greatest player in padel history, this will be his last chance to compete in an official tournament in the UAE before his retirement at the end of the season.
Additionally, history-makers Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez will also participate, having recently secured their 33rd World Tour title together, solidifying their status as the most successful female pair in padel history.
Padel's popularity continues to soar globally, with over 25 million players across 90 countries. The UAE is witnessing significant growth in the sport, boasting 155 clubs and 620 affiliated courts in 2023—a 13% increase from the previous year. Following the successful FIP World Padel Championships in 2022, the upcoming Dubai Premier Padel P1 tournament further cements the UAE's position as a key player in the burgeoning padel scene.
