Dubai Silicon Oasis Wins Four Prestigious Awards at fDi’s Global Free Zones of the Year 2024

Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), a special economic zone dedicated to knowledge and innovation under the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), has been recognized with four prestigious accolades at the Financial Times’ fDi Magazine Global Free Zones of the Year Awards 2024. The zone earned the title of Middle East Free Zone of the Year for Innovation Zones, alongside three other awards.

In addition to being named a regional leader, DSO received a ‘Highly Commended’ ranking in the global category for Innovation Zones, securing the seventh spot in the Top 10 Global Free Zones of the Year 2024. It also garnered an honourable mention for Digital Innovation, showcasing its continued excellence in the technology-driven landscape.

Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi, Director General of DSO, praised the recognition as a testament to the zone's role in driving innovation and digital economy development under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. He emphasized that DSO's robust infrastructure supports a thriving ecosystem that fosters innovation across industries.

Chris Knight, Managing Director of fDi Intelligence, lauded DSO’s achievements, noting its unrivaled strategy focused on knowledge and innovation and pioneering collaborations with entities like MIT and the Dubai Future Foundation.

The UAE’s free zones claimed six spots in the Top 10 Global Free Zones of the Year 2024, a remarkable achievement that reflects the country’s leadership in fostering innovation across the global business landscape. The awards were judged on multidisciplinary criteria by a panel of six experts.
