Dubai to Host Inaugural L’Etape Dubai Cycling Race in February 2025

Dubai is set to host the first-ever "L’Etape Dubai" cycling race, presented by the Tour de France, on February 2, 2025.

The event, organized by Belton and Be Cool Events in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council and title sponsor Škoda Cars, is part of a prestigious series of amateur races that immerse participants in the legacy of the world’s oldest cycling competition.

Announced at a press conference at the Dubai Sports Council, the race is expected to attract thousands of cycling enthusiasts. The event will feature a Kids Race and Family Ride on February 1, followed by the main 110 km "L’Etape Dubai" race and a 60 km “The Ride” on February 2.

The official jersey, showcasing Dubai's iconic landmarks, was also unveiled. Speaking at the event, Ali Omar Al Balooshi, Director of Sports Events at Dubai Sports Council, highlighted the significance of the race, emphasizing Dubai’s growing role as a global hub for cycling.

The L’Etape Dubai is set to provide participants with a unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the Tour de France, with race routes passing through some of Dubai's most famous cultural and tourist landmarks. Further details about the race and its routes will be announced later this year, alongside a series of preliminary training and qualifying races starting in September.

Christian Prudhomme, General Director of the Tour de France, expressed excitement about the partnership with Dubai, marking a new chapter for cycling in the Middle East.
