Emirates Health Services Launches Mental Health Awareness Campaign

In recognition of Mental Health Month, Emirates Health Services (EHS) has initiated an awareness campaign titled "Our Mental Health, Our Responsibility."

Running from October 25 to 27 at Mirdif City Center, the campaign is part of EHS's month-long observance aimed at emphasizing the significance of mental health and combating the social stigma associated with mental illnesses.

Dr. Noor Almheiri, Director of the Mental Health Department at EHS, highlighted that the campaign aligns with the directives of the UAE leadership to enhance community awareness about mental health. It seeks to challenge stereotypes surrounding mental illness while promoting mental balance and overall well-being.

"Focusing on mental health is a core pillar of EHS’s strategy for sustainable development and integrated healthcare,"

Dr. Almheiri stated.

The campaign features various activities designed to educate participants about the mental health services available at EHS facilities. Attendees can access informative booklets detailing essential aspects of mental health, as well as resources to guide them toward appropriate support. EHS aims to empower individuals to seek the help they need, fostering a culture where psychological support is sought without stigma.

Additionally, the initiative underscores the importance of mental health in individual happiness and community prosperity, aligning with the UAE’s National Policy for The Promotion of Mental Health. By prioritizing mental health awareness, EHS is committed to building a supportive environment for all, encouraging community members to take responsibility for their mental well-being.
