Emirates Health Services Receives Intellectual Property Rights for 'Ghiath' Emergency System
Emirates Health Services (EHS) has secured intellectual property rights for its innovative "Ghiath" emergency management and business continuity system from the UAE Ministry of Economy.
This milestone, marking the tenth intellectual property held by EHS, affirms the "Ghiath" system’s role in strengthening the healthcare sector’s crisis response capabilities.
Dr. Yousif Al Serkal, Director-General of EHS, emphasized that the recognition of "Ghiath" aligns with the UAE’s vision to enhance vital sectors and promote global innovation. This achievement underscores EHS’s dedication to national initiatives, including the "We the UAE 2031" vision and the UAE Centennial 2071, both of which aim to improve life quality and ensure a sustainable, healthy future for the nation.
The "Ghiath" system, developed as part of EHS’s Arab Health 2023 initiative, enhances emergency preparedness through a digital platform that consolidates data, statistical reports, and tools for assessing readiness.
Dr. Wedad AlMaidoor AlMheiri, Director of the Emergency Operations Center at EHS, expressed pride in this recognition, highlighting the system’s support for proactive decision-making and resource readiness.
As the first health authority in the region to digitize risk records and hazardous materials response, EHS positions "Ghiath" as a central hub for effective crisis management, linking with the "Jahiz" system and the National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority's platforms. With standards aligned to Joint Commission International (JCI) and ISO benchmarks, "Ghiath" solidifies EHS’s commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, establishing new benchmarks in healthcare resilience.
