Emirates to resume flight operations to 5 countries
Starting from today, 13th January 2022, Emirates will be resuming operations from Guinea (CKY), Cote d'Ivoire (ABJ), Ghana (ACC), Uganda (EBB) and Angola (LAD).
The airline's website issued a statement that outlined the travel protocols for all passengers travelling or transiting to Dubai from the aforementioned countries.
The travel protocols are as follows:
- Passenger travelling from Guinea (CKY), Uganda (EBB) or Ghana (ACC) with final destination DXB requires 48‑hours PCR and 06‑hours Rapid PCR and a PCR test on arrival at DXB.
- Transit passengers travelling from Guinea (CKY), Uganda (EBB), Ghana (ACC) and Cote d’Ivoire (ABJ) to DXB have to comply with the the final destination's rules i.e. they do not have to present a 48 hour PCR test or a 6 hour rapid PCR test unless stated otherwise by their final destination.
- Passengers travelling from Angola (LAD) or Cote d’Ivoire (ABJ) to DXB are required to have 72 hours PCR before the flight and a PCR test on arrival at DXB.
- Transit passengers from Angola (LAD) to DXB are only required to have a 72 hours PCR.
- Passengers travelling from CKY – DSS should follow final destination rules i.e. they do not need to present a 48 hours PCR or a 6 hour Rapid PCR unless it is mandated by the final destination.
Emirates' website stated:
Passengers accepted for travel under the travel protocol must present a valid negative COVID 19 PCR test certificate with a QR code for a test conducted at an approved facility within the stipulated hours of departure, test validity must be calculated from the time the sample was collected. Those are who are required to undergo COVID 19 PCR test on arrival, must remain in self quarantine until they receive the test result.
Moreover, the statement also highlighted that UAE Nationals and children under 12 are exempted from these protocols.
