Emirates Signs MoUs with Vietnam Airlines and VietJet to Enhance Connectivity
Emirates has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Vietnam Airlines and VietJet, aimed at improving travel connectivity between Dubai and Vietnam's major cities, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
The agreements were formalized during the Vietnam-UAE Business Forum held at Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah on October 28.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the importance of collaboration in enhancing connectivity for travelers.
"Vietnam is a market with tremendous opportunities for boosting tourism and trade,"
he stated, highlighting Emirates' long-standing commitment to Vietnam, a market it has served since 2012.
The MoU with Vietnam Airlines aims to expand current cooperation, enhancing connectivity beyond existing routes and exploring new loyalty benefits. This partnership, which dates back to 1994, has enabled Emirates to connect customers to numerous domestic and regional points in Vietnam.
Nguyen Chien Thang, Vietnam Airlines’ Executive Vice President, described the MoU as a milestone that would enhance flexibility and convenience for travelers between the two countries.
The agreement with VietJet focuses on promoting visitor traffic between the UAE and Vietnam, enhancing connectivity to popular domestic destinations like Danang, and providing VietJet customers with access to Emirates' global network through Dubai.
VietJet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong expressed excitement about the partnership, which he believes will enhance cultural exchange and boost Vietnam’s appeal as a travel destination.
The UAE and Vietnam have recently strengthened economic ties with a comprehensive partnership agreement, which aims to bolster trade and investment. As bilateral trade exceeded $3.2 billion in the first half of 2024, Emirates looks forward to further expanding its operations in this dynamic market.
