ENEC Unveils New Brand Identity to Cement Global Leadership in Clean Energy

The Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) has launched a new brand identity to underscore its evolution as a strategic national player in clean energy and its ambitions to become a leading global nuclear energy company.

The rebranding reflects ENEC’s pivotal role in transforming the UAE’s energy sector, contributing 25% of the nation’s electricity needs through the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant. The plant’s clean electricity production reduces 22.4 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually, marking the largest single decarbonisation initiative in UAE history.

Aligned with its mission to drive global decarbonisation, ENEC’s revamped identity integrates its subsidiaries under unified names: ENEC Operations (formerly Nawah Energy Company) and ENEC Commercial (formerly Barakah One Company).

Mohamed Al Hammadi, Managing Director and CEO of ENEC, highlighted the company’s focus on innovation and operational excellence, stating,

“ENEC is setting a benchmark for nations seeking to integrate nuclear energy into their energy mix. Our expertise demonstrates how nuclear energy can be a cornerstone in achieving global Net Zero targets.”

ENEC is expanding its scope to include advanced technologies such as co-generation for producing hydrogen, ammonia, heat, and steam. It is also fostering local and international partnerships to establish the UAE as a global hub for nuclear energy innovation.

The rebranding coincides with rising global momentum for nuclear energy, as 25 nations and 14 banks advocate tripling nuclear capacity by 2050. ENEC aims to leverage its expertise to build a regional nuclear energy supply chain and invest in overseas projects, showcasing nuclear energy’s potential as a sustainable and economically viable energy source.

The Barakah Plant, a cornerstone of this vision, generates 40 TWh of clean electricity annually, supporting 24% of the UAE’s 2030 decarbonisation goals and achieving Green Loan Status as the first nuclear project in the Middle East and Asia.
