flydubai Launches New Daily Service to Bhairahawa Airport in Nepal
flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has announced the launch of a new daily service to Bhairahawa Airport, also known as Gautam Buddha International Airport (BWA), starting from November 10, 2024.
The new route, which operates from Terminal 2 at Dubai International (DXB), provides travelers with a convenient gateway to Nepal.
The flights to Bhairahawa will facilitate return journeys via Kathmandu, addressing the growing demand for travel between Dubai and Nepal.
Sudhir Sreedharan, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations (UAE, GCC, Africa, and the Indian Subcontinent) at flydubai, emphasized the significance of this new route, stating,
“Bhairahawa Airport is Nepal’s second international airport, located in Siddharthanagar, and serves the Lumbini Province, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. We are pleased to continue serving Nepal with this new daily service, highlighting our commitment to providing reliable and convenient travel options.”
Since launching direct flights to Kathmandu in 2009, flydubai has carried over three million passengers, significantly enhancing trade and tourism links between Nepal and the UAE. The airline recently expanded its network to include Basel in Switzerland, Islamabad, and Lahore in Pakistan, as well as Kerman and Kish Island in Iran, increasing its reach to 126 destinations across 55 countries.
The new flights to Gautam Buddha International Airport will feature codeshare options with Emirates, enhancing connectivity for passengers. Return Business Class fares from DXB to BWA start at AED 3,600, while Economy Class Lite fares begin at AED 1,800. From BWA to DXB, return Business Class fares are priced at NPR 145,000, and Economy Class Lite fares at NPR 70,000
