5 unique things you can find at Emirates check-in facility in Dubai
The beloved Dubai Ruler is dedicated to efficient service and has an hands-on approach to leadership
Earlier this week, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, paid a visit to the state-of-the-art city check-in facility provided by Emirates at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, accompanied him and guided him through the center. This facility, located at the ICD Brookfield Place and launched earlier this year, is the only one of its kind offered by the airline in Dubai.
Inside the center, visitors can experience various features such as robots and interactive screens that enable them to plan their upcoming vacations. Here are five things you can find here:
Sara
When you go to this center, you'll meet Sara, the first-ever robot assistant for check-ins in the world. Sara can scan people's faces and match them with their travel documents. She's a cool portable system that can even print your boarding pass. Plus, she can move around to help people who need assistance. I heard that in the future, Sara will have arms to help carry luggage too.
Check-in services
This center has check-in services for people flying with Emirates from anywhere in the world. You can drop off your luggage as early as 24 hours before your flight, up until 4 hours before. This gives you plenty of time to get to the airport without rushing. The center is open from 8am to 10pm every day, so you can visit whenever it's convenient for you. You can use the self check-in machines or go to the special desks with Emirates staff to check in for your flight.
Merchandise shops
Remember that super cozy blanket you had in first class on your Emirates flight? Or maybe you want to bring home a toy plane? Well, now you can! At the city check-in center, there are shops where you can buy all your favorite things, like cool gadgets, travel stuff, and even fancy things from first class. It's like a special store where you can find all the fun stuff you love before you fly.
Interactive LCD Screen
If you're thinking about your next trip but can't decide where to go, there's a huge TV screen that can help you out. It's as big as 2.5 meters and shows all the amazing places you can visit with Emirates. You can see the different routes, how long the flights take, and even get an idea of how much the tickets might cost. It's like a helpful guide to make picking your next vacation super easy.
Dedicated travel assistants
If you need help, there are special travel assistants at the center who can give you expert advice and great deals on popular destinations. These consultants can also help you with things like buying tickets for your next trip, managing your current bookings, upgrading your seat, choosing your preferred seats, and arranging extra baggage if you need it. They're there to make your travel experience even better and take care of all your travel needs.
