FTA Annual Forum Highlights Vital Role of Certified Tax Agents
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) underscored the critical role of certified tax agents in navigating the complexities of corporate taxation at its Annual Forum, held today at Zayed University’s Convention Centre.
The event, which attracted over 180 certified agents and FTA officials, focused on enhancing the expertise and effectiveness of tax professionals.
Opening the forum, Zahra Al-Dahmani, Director of the FTA’s Taxpayer Services Department, highlighted the need for continuous professional development in the ever-evolving landscape of corporate taxation.
“To effectively serve businesses and foster a robust tax ecosystem, the FTA is dedicated to supporting tax agents through ongoing learning and engagement,”
Al-Dahmani stated.
The forum provided an in-depth overview of current corporate tax regulations and best practices. FTA experts discussed the principles of corporate taxation in the UAE, including specific requirements for businesses operating within free zones and insights into the Free Zone Corporate Tax regime. Attendees also received guidance on corporate tax registration processes and the use of the EmaraTax digital platform.
In addition to technical knowledge, the forum emphasized the importance of ethical conduct and professional standards. By adhering to certification and ethical guidelines, tax agents enhance the profession and build trust within the business community, contributing to a transparent and accountable tax system.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing tax agents to directly engage with FTA officials, address their concerns, and exchange experiences. The FTA’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships with tax professionals was evident, reinforcing its role in creating a compliant and efficient tax environment.
