Future Blockchain Summit 2024 Concludes at Dubai Harbour

The Future Blockchain Summit 2024 wrapped up today at Dubai Harbour, focusing on the transformative potential of Web3 and the future of connectivity.

The event attracted over 1,200 investors, 120 exhibitors, and 150 speakers from more than 50 countries, showcasing insights from leading experts in crypto, blockchain, and Web3.

Keynote speaker Don Tapscott, Executive Chairman of the Blockchain Research Institute, outlined the evolution from Web1.0 to Web3. He emphasized blockchain's role in fostering a decentralized internet where users can control their data and assets. Tapscott highlighted the technology's potential to create decentralized AI and computing models, addressing challenges such as AI’s tendency for false recommendations through data provenance tracking.

In a thought-provoking panel session, Christian Gleich, Ambassador of the European Blockchain Association, Frederik Gregaard, CEO of Cardano Foundation, and Bader Al Kalooti, Regional Growth and Ops Lead for Binance MENASAT, discussed the significance of interoperability for identity layers and the need for regulatory clarity. Gregaard posited that the mainstream adoption of blockchain will hinge on the connection of physical assets to the blockchain.

Another engaging discussion featured Henrik Johansson, Head of Global Community at Sui Foundation, and Belal Jassoma, Director of DMCC Ecosystems at Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). They examined Web3’s challenges and opportunities, underscoring the UAE's regulatory advantages while calling for enhanced education and AI modeling. Jassoma noted the pivotal role of regulatory sandboxes and hackathons in driving innovation.

Over four days, investors explored emerging trends, with IVC Fund Partner JT Law remarking that the summit provided invaluable networking and investment insights.
