Hamdan bin Mohammed Launches '71 Challenge' to Empower Young UAE Government Leaders

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, unveiled the ‘71 Challenge for Young Government Leaders’ during the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024 in Abu Dhabi.

This pioneering initiative aims to empower young government professionals, fostering a community of future leaders who will drive the UAE's national vision.

The ‘71 Challenge’ aligns with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. It reflects the UAE’s commitment to preparing a generation of young leaders equipped to lead the nation in a competitive global environment.

“Young people are the driving force behind our nation's progress,”

remarked Sheikh Hamdan.

“Their energy is essential to realising our future vision, and the '71 Challenge' empowers UAE youth to become integral contributors to our development.”

Organized by the UAE Government Leaders Programme and the Government Development and the Future Office, the six-month challenge focuses on enhancing leadership skills and strategic innovation across eight pillars, including digital transformation, Emirati innovation, and economic productivity. A select group of 45 young government leaders from federal and local entities will work under expert supervision to develop impactful government projects, with top projects recognized for their exceptional contributions.

Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, highlighted the program's role in nurturing young talent:

“This challenge cultivates leaders with the Emirati spirit of determination, ensuring the UAE’s future readiness.”

Through the ‘71 Challenge,’ the UAE is investing in a new generation of leaders, positioning itself for sustainable progress in key sectors.
