IACAD Partners with DLD to Enhance Sustainable Mosque Infrastructure in Dubai

In a move reaffirming Dubai's commitment to humanitarian values and sustainable community development, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has highlighted the emirate’s dedication to preserving its cultural identity while fostering a prosperous future. His remarks came during the signing of a strategic agreement between the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) and the Dubai Land Department (DLD) to strengthen the role of mosques in Dubai's real estate developments.

The partnership aims to enhance the sustainable construction, maintenance, and operation of mosques, turning them into vibrant cultural and humanitarian hubs. The initiative fosters public-private collaborations, with leading real estate developers like Emaar Properties, Damac Properties, and Azizi Developments contributing over AED 560 million to fund mosque projects across the emirate.

The funds will support the construction of mosques in several key areas, with over 50,000 worshippers expected to benefit. Notable contributions include Emaar's AED 280 million for 42 mosques, and Azizi Developments' AED 80 million for three mosques, among others. These efforts align with Dubai's broader vision for sustainable community development, encapsulated in the Dubai 2033 plan.

Sheikh Hamdan also met with key stakeholders, praising their contributions and emphasizing that the initiative embodies the spirit of giving deeply ingrained in Dubai’s society. By enhancing the infrastructure of mosques, the project ensures that religious and cultural values continue to thrive, contributing to a more connected, sustainable future for Dubai.
