Latifa bint Mohammed Attends Closing of Dubai Sculpture Symposium

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, attended the closing ceremony of the inaugural Dubai Sculpture Symposium, a key initiative under the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033. Organized by Dubai Culture in the Al Shindagha Historic District, the symposium aimed to integrate sculpture into Dubai’s public spaces, enhance cultural dialogue, and establish the emirate as a global hub for art and creativity.

Sheikha Latifa emphasized the significance of sculpture as a universal art form that bridges cultures, inspires creativity, and transforms public spaces into iconic cultural landmarks. Aligned with Dubai’s Public Art Strategy, the event showcased the emirate’s commitment to strengthening its global art presence and fostering innovation in the creative industries.

The symposium featured 15 sculptors from the UAE and around the world, presenting works that explored diverse themes, including cultural heritage, human connection, and technological evolution. Highlights included Emirati artist Dr. Mohammed Yousif’s piece, Shells, and Syrian artist Aktham Abdul Hamid’s sculpture, Cultural Accumulation, reflecting humanity's journey from history to artificial intelligence.

Organized by the Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children, the symposium was supported by various local organizations, including Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, and Al Shindagha Museum, solidifying Dubai’s position as a creative incubator and cultural destination.
