Ministry of Community Development kicks off Summer Social Platform with Agriculture & Professional Development Hubs
As part of MoCD's new strategy, the summer social social platform launched, highlighting the theme "Community Safety is a Shared Responsibility".
The Agriculture Hub will host a series of initiatives and events for one week until July 29th. The professional development hub will begin from this week and it will continue all throughout July and August until 26th of August.
The activities included in the Agriculture Hub are targeted towards all members of the community from ages to 6 and above. It involves five programmes that encourages entire families to participate. The MoCD organizes each event at 11 everyday with the focus being on agriculture and sustainability on Sunday 25th July; basics of agriculture, types and time of horticulture according to seasons, irrigation and fertilisation on Monday 26th July; importance of agriculture, organic agriculture in the UAE on 27th July; and innovative agriculture programme throughout 28th-29th July.
Moreover, the professional development hub contains the Toastmasters Programme which opportunities to master speech and presentation skills through exceptional training. Furthermore, the professional development hub also offers training in how to successfully influence others, the importance of perfect voice and body language, theatre, presentation, evaluation and dialogue. The hub is available for children aged between 13 to 17 years old. It is scheduled to run from 25th July till 26th August including 12 educational workshops. The programmes will be held every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 16:00 to 18:00.
Saeed Al Khatri, Head of the Summer Social Platform at the MoCD, stated,
The platform comprises a set of remote programmes, initiatives and events that align with the UAE government's strategies related to the COVID-19 recovery plan.
Implementing these events in cooperation with nine entities representing ministries and private and public entities reflects the ministry's vision based on "family stability and a cohesive society"
The Summer Social Platform provide 60 programmes including interactive and engaging content that targets people of different ages. Additionally, the platform aims to provide these initiatives remotely so that a wider community can have access.
Students, parents and various members of the community can access and join the programmes and events according to their scheduled dates and timings through the ministry’s website www.mocd.gov.ae or the Call Centre on 800623.
