MoHAP organises interactive workshop on health innovation
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) organised an interactive workshop on health innovation to enhance employee engagement in designing the ministry’s strategic plan 2023-2026, boosting their skills and capabilities in the area of creativity and development.
The workshop also aims to develop sustainable solutions that keep pace with global changes in the health sector, in line with the vision and strategy of the leadership to make the UAE a world hub for innovation.
Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Public Health Sector, chaired the workshop in the presence of Saqr Al-Humairi, Director of Strategy and Future Department, CEO of Innovation, and officials and employees concerned with the strategy and innovation.
It touched on the design thinking for institutions, with a specific focus on four main areas: a healthy society, by designing a platform to encourage individuals and communities in the country to take better care of their health and have more control over their daily activities to live a longer and healthier life.
In operations and services, the workshop discussed improving performance to provide a better experience and cooperation between departments and sectors.
The third area focused on research and development to create a culture of collecting and managing health data efficiently and stimulate better research and development. The next area dealt with operational enablers, innovative methods to develop employee performance and raise efficiency and effectiveness.
Dr. Al Rand said,
"The initiatives and ideas discussed in the workshop deal with health challenges by developing solutions to reinvent health services, developing research centres, forging local and global partnerships to improve readiness to confront future diseases, tapping into analytical data and raising preparedness for disease prevention,"
"The ministry’s Innovation Health Strategy is a cornerstone of its agenda for the future of healthcare, under the theme ‘Pioneering innovation and health organisation with world-class specifications’, to enhance the UAE’s leading status as a model in the proactive confrontation of future challenges, and as a global destination for a sustainable future in digital health services,"
Saqr Al-Humairi said,
"The interactive workshop is one of four innovative workshops, based on the ministry's partnership with IBM to foster the innovation factors in the ministry’s upcoming strategy, which is underway thoughtfully and according to a timeline,"
He added that the strategy represents a roadmap to achieve the best levels of healthcare and come up with successful strategies of sustainable quality to develop proactive and integrated health services.
He noted that the goal is to establish a health system based on partnership, scientific research, and innovation, and attract health talents.
