Ministry of Justice Launches 2023-2026 Strategic Plan for UAE
The Ministry of Justice launched its strategic plan for 2023-2026, as part of the UAE Government’s approach for the next 50 years.
The plan aims to maintain the achievements of the UAE’s judicial system over the past 50 years. It underscores the significant attention offered by the country’s leadership to strengthening the judicial sector.
Dr. Saeed Ali Bahbouh Al Naqbi, Acting Under-Secretary of the Ministry, said the strategic plan aims to achieve an ambitious future vision based on innovation, happiness and digitisation, underscoring the strategic objectives of the UAE Government and its centennial national agenda.
"Our vision for the new plan is based on ensuring the creation of a flexible and digital judicial system, which will be reliable and safe and can serve an economically competitive community. Our mission is to draft legislation to keep pace with the country’s future ambitions and provide advanced and innovative judicial services," he added.
Al Naqbi stressed that the ministry is implementing several innovative strategic projects as part of its plans, including phase one of a virtual judge project, a jurisprudence e-portfolio project, a project covering digital simultaneous translation during litigation hearings, and a smart platform for legal and judicial training.
Dr. Abdullah Al Hammadi, Director of Strategy and the Future Administration at the Ministry, presented the key features of the new strategy and the major future projects planned by the ministry.
The ministry recently organised several brainstorming sessions and innovation labs and sessions with partners, employees and community members to collect their opinions on the process of drafting the new strategic plan, he added.
