UAE Launches National Health and Nutrition Survey 2024-2025
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has embarked on the National Health and Nutrition Survey 2024-2025 in collaboration with key partners including the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, local health authorities, and statistical centres across the UAE. This comprehensive survey aims to gather precise and reliable data on the health and nutrition landscape nationwide.
Officially initiated following a press conference in May, the survey intends to update the UAE's health and nutrition database, measuring vital health indicators and supporting evidence-based policymaking aligned with the nation's "We the UAE 2031" vision. Through a structured methodology, field teams will collect data crucial for health policy formulation and strategic planning.
To ensure transparency and authenticity, survey teams are identifiable by custom uniforms featuring MoHAP and survey logos, with their identities verified through official ID cards. The ministry has launched an awareness campaign via multiple media channels and a dedicated hotline (80011111) to inform and assist the public.
Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Public Health Sector, emphasized the survey's importance in enhancing healthcare quality and public health outcomes. He highlighted the strategic collaboration with local authorities and partners to facilitate effective survey execution.
The survey, endorsed by the World Health Organisation, will utilize electronic questionnaires in Arabic, English, Hindi, and Urdu, covering a broad range of health and nutrition indicators. It targets 10,000 families for health and nutrition surveys, encompassing diverse demographics including Emirati citizens, expatriates, and workers across various age groups and health categories.
Dr. Alia Zaid Harbi, Director of the Statistics and Research Center at MoHAP, assured participants of data confidentiality and stressed the survey's role in shaping future healthcare strategies.
The National Health and Nutrition Survey 2024-2025 represents a pivotal step towards advancing the UAE's healthcare system, driven by comprehensive data collection and international standards in research and statistics.
