MoHAP Acknowledges Strategic Partners for Their Contribution to Advancing Health Initiatives

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has honoured the partners of the Health Promotion Department, in recognition of their crucial role in implementing and ensuring the success of health and wellbeing initiatives and programmes.

The ceremony, held at the ministry's headquarters and attended by Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand and Nouf Khamis Al Ali, aimed to strengthen cooperation with strategic partners from government, private entities, and suppliers. The ministry's objective is to realize ambitious goals, enhance health sector development, and elevate the quality of healthy living, emphasizing the pivotal role of partnerships in advancing public health. Aligned with the ministry's comprehensive strategy, the event focused on fostering positive collaborations, sharing knowledge, promoting expertise, and encouraging innovation in disease prevention through targeted awareness campaigns for various community groups.

In his opening speech at the ceremony, Dr. Al Rand emphasized the ministry's dedication to fostering productive partnerships with key stakeholders from federal and local governments, as well as the private sector. These collaborations serve as a robust foundation for implementing awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing health consciousness, encouraging healthy behavior, and aligning with the ministry's strategic vision for a future where universal health and well-being are achievable. Dr. Al Rand underscored the significance of recognizing strategic partners, as they constitute an elite coalition of government and private institutions working cohesively to address current and future health challenges, collectively pursuing a comprehensive set of health objectives.

“Through this ceremony, we look forward to keeping our partners updated with the recent developments and methodologies adopted by the Health Promotion Department, to refresh performance metrics, enhance services and support the sustainable development agenda, in line with MoHAP’s strategic plans,”

Dr. Al Rand said.

Al Ali emphasized the Health Promotion Department's commitment, operating within the MoHAP's Public Health Sector, to acknowledge the significant contributions of partners and supporters across local, federal, and private sectors involved in the department's programs, projects, and health initiatives. The recognition reflects their support for the department's awareness initiatives in 2023, with Al Ali noting the accomplishments and outlining the health awareness plan for 2024, underscoring the importance of strategic partnerships in constructing a comprehensive and integrated health system.

“By leveraging shared capabilities and resources, these partnerships facilitate the launch of awareness initiatives and innovative health programs to enhance health awareness, foster positive health behaviours across the community, and execute sustainable health strategies tailored to the evolving needs of society,”

Al Ali said.

The ceremony acknowledged 48 partners and supporters, comprising 32 private entities and 16 government bodies, for their backing of health initiatives initiated by the Health Promotion Department. Among these efforts is the third phase of the "Positive Healthy Work Environment-Check" program, empowering employers to promote employee health and cultivate healthy living habits, having already involved 25 government entities and 2,500 employees in its initial two phases. Additionally, the department initiated a public anti-smoking campaign, addressed obesity prevention, and implemented various programs dedicated to enhancing community health.
