MoHAP and Pfizer Collaborate for "Nebras" Initiative to Advance Nursing and Midwifery Research

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced a new initiative called "Nebras" in partnership with Pfizer, a renowned biopharmaceutical company. This initiative aims to strengthen research in the nursing and midwifery fields.

The Supreme National Committee for Nursing and Midwifery will unveil the "Nebras: My Journey in the World of Nursing and Midwifery Research" initiative during an upcoming press conference on June 15.

The goal is to enhance the research capabilities of nursing and midwifery professionals, enabling them to actively contribute to scientific research aligned with national health priorities.

Aligned with the national strategy for nursing and midwifery (2022-2026), the Nebras initiative supports the UAE Centennial 2071 vision and the development of nursing and midwifery care services. By creating knowledge, manuals, and concepts in these professions, the initiative aims to elevate the status of nursing and midwifery in UAE society, attracting young national talents to pursue careers in these fields.

Nebras focuses on promoting scientific research and evidence-based practices, aligning with the objectives of the national strategy. It aims to facilitate research studies that provide valuable insights for guiding initiatives outlined in the strategy. Additionally, the initiative seeks to foster a research culture within nursing and midwifery, promoting evidence-based policies and clinical practices aligned with national health priorities.

The Nebras initiative introduces a national guidance program in nursing and midwifery research. Experts in these fields will be invited to serve as mentors after attending an introductory workshop. Nursing and midwifery personnel across the country will have the opportunity to present their research ideas as potential interns. Selected interns will be assigned a mentor to develop a guidance plan and timeline within a comprehensive electronic platform.

The program concludes with a ceremony honoring participants, where their accomplishments and research study results are showcased. Through the Nebras initiative, MoHAP and Pfizer aim to empower nursing and midwifery professionals to contribute to the advancement of healthcare research and practice in the UAE.
