Pakistan-UAE Travel Alert: Visit Visa Violators Will Be Stopped Before Departure, Warns Consul-General

Pakistani citizens planning to visit the UAE on a tourist visa are being warned of strict enforcement measures at Pakistani airports.

According to Hussain Muhammad, the Consul-General of Pakistan for Dubai and Northern Emirates, travelers who do not meet specific requirements, such as having a confirmed hotel stay, sufficient funds, and a return ticket, will be stopped at the airport before departing for the UAE.

Travel industry experts confirm that tourists from Pakistan and other countries must have at least Dh3,000 in funds, a return ticket, and proof of accommodation or residence with a family member to enter the UAE. Those who fail to meet these criteria will be refused entry and sent back to their home countries.

Speaking during Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day celebration in Dubai, Consul-General Muhammad urged the 1.7 million Pakistani expats in the UAE to respect local laws and positively contribute to society. He emphasized that UAE laws are strictly enforced, and violators face fines and imprisonment.

“Every Pakistani is a representative of our country. We have highlighted the visa issue, and the FIA (Federal Investigation Authority) along with airport authorities in Pakistan are working on it. Those who don’t meet the requirements will be stopped at the airport,”

Muhammad said.

Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, previously advised Pakistanis not to seek employment while on a tourist visa in the UAE.

“Tourists should focus on tourism activities such as visiting museums, mosques, and malls. Those looking for jobs should come on an employment visa,”

Tirmizi said.

Consul-General Muhammad also warned Pakistanis in the UAE to be cautious about sharing social media posts that may not comply with local laws and customs. He stressed that social media is closely monitored in the UAE to ensure peace and security, and sharing unreliable or fake content can lead to serious consequences.

“The UAE has provided us with numerous opportunities, and it is our responsibility to respect local laws, culture, and live a disciplined life according to the regulations,”

he added.
