PUBG MOBILE Global Championship Finals for the first time in the Middle East

Based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, preparations are continuing in Dubai to host the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) Finals, which take place here from January 21 to 24, at the Coca-Cola Arena in City Walk.

Supported by Dubai Sports Council and Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, the PMGC 2020 Finals, which boast the biggest prize purse in PUBG MOBILE history, will be taking place for the first time in the Middle East, with 16 of the world’s best teams battling for a share of the US $2,000,000 prize purse.

Staff at the Coca-Cola Arena have been working around the clock to get the venue ready for the PMGC 2020 Finals, which are being organized in accordance with all the COVID-19 precautionary, allowing all 16 teams to compete on-site in a safe and fair gameplay environment.

The Finals will be held offline - without audiences - but fans can watch all the action on the PUBG MOBILE Esports YouTube, Facebook and Twitch channels. An advanced media studio will be equipped in the competition hall to provide commentary and analysis in 11 languages, including Arabic.

The top 16 teams punched their tickets to Dubai through the PMGC League, which concluded with an explosive Super Weekend on December 20, 2020, showcasing the very best of PUBG MOBILE professional play thus far and providing fans around the world with four weeks of nail-biting action, pitting 24 teams from various tournaments against each other across 60 intense matches.

The PMGC League took place in 13 cities across the world, including Dubai, from November 24 to December 20, 2020, and Four Angry Men finished at the top, followed by Bigetron Red Aliens in second and RRQ Athena in third.

While work is being done to equip the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai with the latest international specifications for hosting the PMGC 2020 Finals with interesting features and designs that add to the exciting atmosphere of competition, the 16 teams - represented by 150 people, including players, technical staff, administrators and tech support - continue their training to reach the highest level of readiness for competing at the Finals.

The stars participating in the tournament have also begun filming promotional videos for the tournament in different spots, including Dubai’s top tourist attractions, in order to broadcast them to the world through their channels.

Since last November, the attention of PUBG MOBILE fans has been focused on Dubai, which became the first city to host a part of the PMGC League as well as the PMGC 2020 Finals in the same season, thanks to the availability of all the elements necessary for the hosting and success of top events, including its ultramodern infrastructure, luxurious hotels and world-renowned tourist attractions.

By hosting the PMGC League as well as the PMGC 2020 Finals, PUBG MOBILE has become one of the most important events in the list of international sporting events that are organized in Dubai, which reflects the great spread of this sport in the country and Dubai's position on the map of organizing and hosting major sporting events, and also the keenness of the Dubai Sports Council and the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai to provide a distinctive and new addition to the tournaments and major sporting events that include competitions in various Olympic and non-Olympic sports and various challenge tournaments.
