RTA Introduces Digital Platform to Elevate Dubai Metro and Tram Services
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Keolis MHI, has unveiled an integrated digital platform to revolutionise inspection operations at Dubai Metro and Tram stations.
This initiative reinforces RTA’s commitment to enhancing passenger experiences and adopting advanced technological solutions in public transport.
The cutting-edge system streamlines inspection procedures, automating monitoring operations to boost operational efficiency. It plays a pivotal role in identifying passenger violations, such as the unauthorised use of Gold Class cabins and the misuse of designated spaces for women, while optimising the deployment of fare inspectors to high-priority areas.
Equipped with real-time monitoring capabilities, the platform tracks inspectors’ performance and generates analytical reports, enabling dynamic decision-making. During major events, inspection teams are strategically deployed based on predictive data analysis, ensuring a more effective response to passenger violations.
Moreover, the system records passenger data to identify repeat offenders and educate them on compliance, contributing to a 14% monthly increase in inspection rates and improved violation detection.
Supporting Dubai’s urban sustainability goals, the digital platform reduces resource consumption and promotes environmentally friendly practices. A dedicated inspection oversight centre, featuring live monitoring screens, ensures optimal resource utilisation and swift action to uphold passenger safety and comfort.
This technological advancement marks a significant step towards creating a smarter, more sustainable public transport ecosystem in Dubai.
