RTA Urges School Bus Operators to Enhance Safety Measures for 2024-2025 School Year
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has called on school bus operators across the Emirate to intensify their preparations for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, ensuring the provision of high-quality and safe transportation services for students of all age groups.
This initiative aligns with RTA’s vision of being a world leader in seamless and sustainable mobility.
Recognizing the critical importance of school transport to the UAE’s leadership and parents, RTA continuously monitors the performance of this sector. The authority is committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of students during their daily commutes, supported by advanced technologies and rigorous safety protocols.
In anticipation of the new academic year, RTA has engaged with school administrations and bus operators, urging them to prioritize health and safety measures to create a secure educational environment. The RTA emphasizes that safety and health education are essential components of the back-to-school season.
RTA’s specialized teams conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with school transport laws and standards. Buses undergo routine checks to confirm their roadworthiness and are equipped with emergency devices. Bus attendants are responsible for guiding students safely on and off the buses and ensuring they reach the nearest point to their homes.
Additionally, RTA has instructed bus drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations, particularly around schools, to avoid congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow. School transport companies are mandated to provide comprehensive training for drivers and attendants, focusing on student safety and professional conduct.
RTA acknowledges the efforts of school bus operators and administrations in maintaining high safety standards and maintaining communication with parents to ensure the well-being of students during their daily commutes.
