Second Round of Government Accelerators Launched by UAE and Kyrgyzstan
The governments of the UAE and Kyrgyzstan have teamed up to launch the second set of government accelerators.
These accelerators aim to speed up innovation and solve challenges faced by the government. The UAE delegation visited Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan's capital, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in government modernization.
Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs, highlighted the success of the first cohort of accelerators in Kyrgyzstan. He mentioned that the new cohort builds on this success and focuses on challenges such as attracting foreign investment, improving legislative structures, and simplifying administrative procedures like vehicle registration.
The first cohort successfully addressed challenges such as opening nurseries, increasing electric vehicle usage, and improving public service delivery. These initiatives involved various government ministries and agencies working together to find innovative solutions.
The partnership between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan in government modernization was formalized through a bilateral cooperation agreement signed in 2021. This agreement covers various aspects including government accelerators, capacity building, economy, youth, sustainability, and more.
